About

My background is in multimedia production – audio, video, web and text. I worked for the BBC for twenty years before going freelance.

Stuff I’ve done at the BBC:

  • As a BBC Radio Producer, I produced programmes for Radio 4, Radio 2, Radio 5 and Radio Scotland, including Woman’s Hour, Midweek, documentary features and Speaking Out.
  • I wrote a series of illustrated talks for Radio 4.
  • I won a Sony Radio Award for an edition of ‘Speaking Out’, Radio Scotland’s topical debate programme.
  • As Editor of BBC Scotland’s New Media Department, I had editorial responsibility for web, mobile and interactive TV content for CBBC, Cbeebies, Radio 1, BBC Scotland and BBC Four. The multi-disciplinary team I worked with was nominated for an Interactive BAFTA for the CBBC site ‘Shoebox Zoo’.
  • On secondment to BBC Scotland TV, I produced campaign films and wrote scripts for Children in Need.
  • As Senior Interactive Development Producer for the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, I was responsible for developing a multimedia strategy for the orchestra and produced music education projects in partnership with Education Scotland, Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art and Glasgow City Council.  I also produced a distance learning project via videoconference with players from the BBC SSO and school pupils in remote areas of Scotland.
